The 'By The Pound' exhibit at the Sleeping Giant Gallery was a success! supah packed, supah awesome! and of course the 100 artists participating was a huge contributor. I was pretty pumped and giddy to see my work up there alongside some other amazing artists! Thanks to those of you who made it that night to check out our work : 3 special thanks goes to my guuurrlllfriend Christina Thai! for making time out of her extremely busy schedule to spend that special night with me : )

a self portrait of myself for a semester-long journal for our core illustration class with Thom Sevalrud. Since I was tackling some pretty new mediums and techniques for this project- I didn't really feel comfortable and felt like I was being someone I wasn't (dramatic statement, but you get the point lol ) however, I did end up discovering the awesomeness of linocutting soo, booyaw!

Hey all! I'll be participating along with 100 other artists at The Sleeping Giant Gallery exhibit, "By the Pound" Artwork in this show is pretty much being treated like meat and being sold by the pound! a great concept about the quality and originality of original pieces instead of buying cheapcheap artwork. So drop by and check it out! or visit everyone at the opening reception~!
Also, check out my other homies from OCAD that will also be participating: Jeannie Phan, Myra Phan, Marta Ryczko and Melody-Blue Klassen! : )

Some icons we did for media studio 2 with Joel Castillo : ) Here, we were asked to display various types of icons: Situational, Silhouette and Info-graphic. He kind of let us pick and choose which types and whatnot~ so here they are!!! the colors of the monkey bugs me, but whhaateves!

Ooh, editorial! I was pretty pumped to learn that we'd be doing a few of these. Although I've recently acquired a temporary phobia to spot illustrations- it has nonetheless been fun ta do. This semester was filled with spot illustrations! or at least illustrations with small dimensions. The limited space provided definitely challenged us to condense our information and detail in order to clearly convey our concepts- a challenge that I both hated and loved T-T
So for this assignment, we were asked to create three spot illustrations based on a list of interesting facts that was provided. Another requirement was that the illustrations must be related to each other aesthetically ( with color or style) so, here they are! :)
Chance that a female U.S. street prostitute during any given week will be arrested by a police officer: 1 in 67.
Chance that she will have sex with that police officer: 1 in 33
Average number of extra calories children consume for every hour of television they watch: 167
p.s. !! - a quick game to play if you are super bored, or looking for an excuse to not do your homework- in one of these three spot illustrations- there is something missing!! :O
first one to spot it gets a big, sloppy awkward embrace by yours truly :)

click me, I grow bigger!
click me, I grow bigger!
Not too long ago these little guys were born : ) For our sequential narrative class we were asked to create a comic of 8 panels geared towards children. The requirement of the project was to incorporate a conversation, and play around with the possibilities of text. So I thought, why not educate them on a certain time in their lives where things grow in unexpected places..

Among the many crazy projects that's been thrown at us this year, I've decided to participate in the OCADU's Whodunit? show! It's been a goal of mine this year to participate in as many shows that I can.
The preview is on Nov 17th! online and in a gallery space ( not sure where yet, i'll keep ya updated!) so for mysterious reasons I will not be posting my three pieces : P So come to the show!! and try to find my pieces : D
